ANNETTA BRAUNSCHWEIG

Braunschweig,_AnnetteMemorial services for Annetta A. Braunschweig, 87, Tavares, FL, formerly of Aurelia, will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, December 7, 2013 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Larry Lemke officiating. Inurnment will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Aurelia. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Mount Olivet Lutheran School in Miami, FL.

Annetta Aurelia Braunschweig was born on August 11, 1926 at Aurelia, IA, the daughter of the Rev. Otto A. and Lisette L. (Gerike) Braunschweig.  She was both baptized and confirmed at Immanuel Lutheran Church by her father, Pastor Braunschweig. She attended Afton Township School for eight years, then Aurelia High School, graduating in 1945. She continued her education at Concordia Teachers College in Seward, NE, and Emmetsburg Community College. After graduating from college she moved to California for several years before she began teaching. Annetta taught for 26 years in Lutheran elementary schools in Iowa, Idaho, Minnesota, Texas, Ohio, Illinois, Kentucky, and Florida. She retired from teaching and moved to Tavares in 1991. At that time she joined Faith Lutheran Church in Eustis, FL, where she enjoyed and active life in her church and school activities until health problems limited, and finally prohibited, participation. She was a member of the Women’s Lutheran Missionary League, and officer for Aid Assoc. for Lutherans, TLC Sewing, and enjoyed doing crafts. Annetta was a very fun and loving person, and when help was needed she was always there to lend a helping hand.

Annetta died November 13, 2013 in Tavares, FL.

Preceding Annetta in death were her parents, two sisters and their husbands; Eleonora and Alfred Honsbruch and Verona and Ted Fosdick, seven brothers; Reinhold and wife Rosa Braunschweig, Theodore Braunschweig, Ottomar Braunschweig, Gerhardt and wife Helen Braunschweig, Arnold Braunschweig, Carl Braunschweig, Bernard Braunschweig, and one brother-in-law; Willis Warkentien.

Survivors include two sisters; Cornelia Warkentien of St. Paul, MN, Anna and her husband Herbert Huseman of Rice Lake, WI, two brothers; Robert and his wife Sharon Braunschweig of Donahue, IA, and Victor and his wife Okie Braunschweig of Mustang, OK, five sisters-in-law; Evelyn Braunschweig of Alta, Nelda Carney of St. Clare, MO, Beverly Braunschweig of Wall Lake, IA, Betty Braunschweig of Iowa Falls, IA, and Diana Braunschweig of Golden, CO, good friend Opal Pruitt of Tavares, FL, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
