Funeral services for Pam Petersen, 63, of Aurelia, will be 10:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Missy Brown officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M., with the family present, at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia. The Redig Funeral Home of Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.

Pamela Kay Petersen was born February 24, 1949 at Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Emery and Mabel (Larsen) Petersen.  She attended country school in Gray & Viola and graduated from the Audubon High School in 1967.  Pam married Paul Anderson which ended in divorce.  On October 11, 1980 Pam married Richard Petersen in Harlan, Iowa.  Pam helped Richard raise turkeys for Bil-Mar/Sara Lee for 15 years. She started a used clothing store in their home before moving the business into Alta and calling it “The Price is Right”.  She later worked as a waitress at the Aurelia Café and The Pantry Café in Storm Lake.   Pam retired in April of this year.  She enjoyed sharing her homemade baked items with friends and was always willing to help anyone in need.  She enjoyed garage sales.  She treasured her time with her grandchildren and great-grandson.

Pam died Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the Cherokee Regional Medical Center in Cherokee where she lost her battle with cancer.

Preceding Pam in death were her mother, Mabel Petersen, an infant brother, Rickey Petersen, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norman and Lila Petersen.

Survivors include her husband Richard of Aurelia, six children; Robby and his wife Julie Anderson of Elk Horn, IA, Marcy and her husband Todd Larsen of Kimballton, IA, Bryce Petersen of Omaha, NE, Bryan Petersen of Primghar, IA, Christopher Petersen of Harlan, IA, and Eric Petersen of Denver, CO. Also surviving are eight grandchildren; Mandy and husband Derek Soll, Jesse Larsen, Justin Larsen, Madison Larsen, McKenna Larsen, Cole Anderson, Koy Anderson, Cayden Petersen and Laci Petersen, one great-grandson; Daltyn Soll, Pam’s father, Emery Petersen of Audubon, IA, and one brother, Gene and his wife Lois Petersen of Mesa, AZ.  Pam’s Angels were Judy Bartholomew of Aurelia and Beth Kessler of Holstein, and many other relatives and friends.
