Celebration of life services for Joshua L. Suhr, age 41, of Aurelia, will take place at the Aurelia Community Center on Monday, August 17, 2026 from 5pm until 8pm, with the family present. The Redig Funeral Home of Aurelia is in charge of the arrangements.

On May 11, 1985 Joshua Linn Suhr was born to parents Kenneth and Trena Mae (Fransen) Suhr, in Storm Lake, Iowa. He was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church at Hanover on June 16, 1985 and confirmed there on June 22, 2003. Josh attended schools in Spencer and Alta, graduating from Alta High School in 2003. On July 24, 2010 Josh was united in marriage to Kerri Armstrong at the Zion Lutheran Church in Storm Lake. To this union two children were born, Chloe and Blaine, the true loves of his life.

While he enjoyed many hobbies his children were his greatest passion. In his younger years Josh enjoyed playing with farm toys and tractors which led into collecting them in later years. He was a wrestler in high school and also enjoyed watching and playing football. Growing up in Alta, Josh spent many nights at the racetrack and worked his way up to being a stock car driver! In his leisure time he enjoyed watching cooking shows. Josh will be remembered always for his strong work ethic, witty sense of humor, and deep love for his family and friends.

Josh died on August 12, 2026 at the Avoca Specialty Care Center.

Left to cherish his memory are his children, Chloe and Blaine Suhr, special friend Kerri Suhr, father Ken (Heidi) Suhr, grandpa Lester Suhr, siblings Samantha Suhr (Jorge Landeros), Dylan Suhr, Blake (Katelynn) Suhr, Rachel Suhr (Trevor Schoon), nieces and nephews, Ellie, Dilan, Oliver, Peyton, Adeline, Adler, Tyernan, and True. Many aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.

Preceding Josh in death are his mother, Trena Mae Sunday on May 5, 2023, grandparents Jeannette Suhr, and Irvin “Pete” and Elona Fransen, and cousin Zachary Fransen.
