
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 6th, 2026 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Hanover. Visitation will be from 5:00 until 7:00 on Thursday, March 5th, 2026 also at the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Hanover.
Beverly Glienke, age 87, of Aurelia, IA, peacefully left her earthly life to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, March 2, 2026.
On January 6, 1939, Beverly Rose Boese was born to parents, Merlyn William and Evelyn Marie (Lange) Boese, in Storm Lake, Iowa. She grew up northeast of Storm Lake, Iowa on the family’s century farm, where she attended Truesdale Schools and graduated with the class of 1956.
Bev was united in marriage on February 7, 1959 to Ernest Arthur Herman Glienke at the St. John Lutheran Church in Hanover. This union was blessed with four children: Brian, Dale, Keith, and Lois. She and Ernie raised their family on a dairy farm south of Aurelia. She was a homemaker, tended to her family, and assisted in making the farm operate smoothly. In her free time, Bev enjoyed making candles, sewing, and baking.
Bev was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and community. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Hanover, IA. She was baptized on Jan. 29, 1939 and was confirmed on Apr. 5, 1959. She was active in many committees at church and spent many years as the church secretary.
Besides her duties at home, Bev enjoyed being a 4H program volunteer, Cherokee County Farm Bureau Women’s Committee member, and a member of the Gideons Auxiliary. She proudly received the Master Farm Homemaker Award.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Brian (Cindy) Glienke of Aurelia, Dale (Kris) Glienke of Aurelia, Keith (Marcy) Glienke of Aurelia, Lois (Roger) Morris of Spencer, IA; grandchildren: Kyle (Ashlee) Glienke, Levi (Katie) Morris, Adam (Amy) Glienke, Courtney (Dan) Levin, Dana (Kaitlin) Morris, Jason (Tristin) Glienke, Stacie Glienke, Tanner (Katie) Morris, Brandon Glienke; great-grandchildren: Alivia, Blake, Albert, Karsten, Collins, Mila, Amelia, Jovi, Evie, Briggs, Henry, Nell, Charlie, Emma, and Mack. Other survivors include her sister, Barb (Paul) Posivio; brothers and sisters-in-law: Martin Glienke, Willard Schmidt, Dorothy Hinkeldey, and Randy York, as well as, many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
Bev was preceded in death by her husband Ernie Glienke, parents Merlyn and Evelyn Boese, grandson Cody Glienke, brother Jerry Boese, sister Lynette York, and brothers and sisters-in-law: Henry (Lorraine) Glienke, Albert (Marilyn) Glienke, Esther (Harold) Lussman, Herman (Delores) Glienke, Emma Glienke, Lydia (Harold) Christensen, Alvina Schmidt, Marie (Lyle) Lichtenberg, Dwaine Hinkeldey, and Jeanne Glienke.
