Funeral services for Stephanie A. Fordyce, 49, of Aurelia, will be 11:00 A.M. Thursday, July 28, 2022 at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia with Pastor Linda Morris officiating. Private inurnment will be at Good Hope Cemetery, rural Cherokee, at a later date. Visitation will be Wednesday from 4:00 until 7:00, with the family present, at the First United Methodist Church. The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.

Stephanie Ann Fordyce was born May 17, 1973, the daughter of Dan Francis and Julie Ann (Clark) Fordyce in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. The family moved to Lake Park, IA, and then to Aurelia in the fall of 1975. She attended school in Aurelia, graduating from the Aurelia High School in 1992. Stephanie worked for Dairy Queen, Swain’s Turbo Tunnel in Cherokee, Sioux Valley Memorial Hospital in Cherokee, Wal-Mart in Storm Lake, and Fareway in Cherokee. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church. She enjoyed helping on the farm with the calves, her nieces and nephews, collecting bears, and everything blue. She was a big fan of the Iowa Hawkeye’s and Dale Earnhardt. Stephanie treated everyone as a friend, and greeted them with her warm smile and quick wit.

Stephanie died Saturday, July 23, 2022 at MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.

Preceding Stephanie in death were her grandparents; Eldon and Janet Fordyce and Elbert and Donna Clark, and two uncles; Elwin and wife Doris Clark and Merlin Clark.

Those left to cherish her memory are her parents, Dan and Julie Fordyce of Aurelia, two sisters; Melissa “Missy” Carlson of Sac City and April Fordyce of Aurelia, one brother, Jay and his wife Steph Fordyce of Aurelia, nieces and nephews; Becca Carlson and her significant other Joe Mitchell, Mason Carlson, and Tyler, Allie, and Dylan Fordyce. Also surviving are four uncles; Mark and wife Cathy Fordyce and David and wife Lori Fordyce all of Aurelia, Mat Fordyce of Alta, and Jerry and wife Ilene Clark of Lakefield, MN, and four aunts; Carol Fordyce of Spirit Lake, Jeanette Kellar of Lake Park, Cindy Clark of Windom, MN, and Judi and husband Dar Renner of Burnsville, MN, and several other relatives and friends.
