Graveside memorial services for Jeanette Matzdorff, 84, of Minnetrista, MN, formerly of Aurelia, will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Aurelia, with Pastor Derek Evans of the St. Paul Lutheran Church officiating. There will be no visitation. A luncheon will follow at the Aurelia Golf Club. Memorials may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association. The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.

On Monday, February 1, 2021 Jeanette peacefully passed away at age 84.

Jeanette Jean Swanger was born on September 8, 1936 in Correctionville, IA, to Harold and Velma Swanger and graduated from Cherokee High School in 1955.  Jeanette married Jerry Matzdorff and moved to Aurelia, IA in 1956 where she raised her family and lived until 2016, when she retired to Minnetrista, MN.  Jeanette loved spending time with family and friends, baking, crafts, boating, fishing, bird watching and working at the Aurelia Community Center.

Jeanette was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jerry on June 18, 2014. She is survived by her four sisters, Sharon, Donna, Ardy and Carol, three sons and their spouses, Ken (Alane) from California, Den (Jennifer) from Texas and Dan (Gabby) from Minnesota, four grandchildren, Tim (Sarah), Molly (Dana), Jennifer, and Bryan (Amanda), three great-children, Noah, Corey, and Emily, and other relatives and friends.
