Visitation for Lois McCabe, 97, of Freeland, Washington, formerly of Aurelia, will be held on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, from 2:00 until 3:30 P.M. at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia. Inurnment will follow at the St. Mary’s Cemetery in Storm Lake at 4:00 P.M.

Lois Booth was born April 17, 1918 the daughter of John and Margaret (Brangwin) Booth. She graduated from the Aurelia High School in 1934. On October 9, 1943 Lois married William Francis (Bill) McCabe in Storm Lake. They moved to San Diego, CA, while Bill served on a Navy submarine during WWII. After the war they farmed near Aurelia for 28 years. Lois worked at Lockin Insurance Agency in Aurelia, and later at the Cherokee County Assessor’s Office. They retired to Whidbey Island, WA in 1982. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, traveling, and sewing.

Preceding Lois in death were her parents, her husband Bill on March 19, 1987, and one sister and her husband; Elaine and Marvin Bengtson.

Lois died October 14, 2015 in Freeland, WA.

Survivors include her three daughters; Sandi and her husband Joe Karl Beals of Cherokee, Vicki and her husband Tom Griffin of Seattle, WA, and Toni and her husband Phil Spady of Bellevue, WA, five grandchildren; Linda and husband Jeff Ducommun of Larrabee, Andrea and husband Eric Thoreson of Seattle, WA, Karla and husband Brandon Frehse of Everly, Joe Beals and wife Jamie Wilger of Urbana, IL, and Alex Spady of Bellevue, WA, six great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
