Funeral services for Shirley Ann Misner, 74, of Aurelia, will be at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, January 2, 2013, at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Larry Lemke officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia with the family being present. The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.
Shirley Ann Zoss was born on April 13, 1938, the daughter of Ben and Rika Augusta (Vosberg) Zoss in Manson, IA. She attended school in Armour, SD. On July 11, 1953 she was united in marriage to William Joseph Misner at the Redeemer Lutheran Church in Armour. Over the years Shirley worked for Speelman’s, Gibson’s, Kum & Go, Casey’s Pizza, and Scotty’s, all in Cherokee, and she also babysat in Colorado. She was a member of the Lutheran Ladies Aid in Quimby and was the Youth Leader for the church. Shirley loved to bake and share her baking talents with others, cooking, and doing jigsaw puzzles.
Shirley died Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the Sunset Knoll Care & Rehab Center in Aurelia, Iowa.
Preceding Shirley in death were her parents, one grandson, Nicholaus, and five brothers; Gary, Marvin, Ivan (Bill), Charles, and Norman Zoss.
Survivors include: her husband Bill of Aurelia; four children, Pam and her husband Denny Allen of Aurelia, Penny and her husband Steve Griggs of Kissimmee, FL, Perry Misner and Di Oberg of Garden City, KA, and Paul Misner of Dubuque; and ten grandchildren, Nathan Allen of Long Beach, CA, Wade and his wife Jessica Allen of Des Moines, IA, Haley and her husband Matt Thiele of Grimes, IA, Mariah Allen of Aurelia, Tiffany and her husband Jesse Lowrie of Kissimmee, Adam and his wife Mallory Oberg, Aaron Oberg, Angie and her husband Neil Genther, Jerry and his wife Sue Oberg, and Andy and his wife Inez Oberg. Also surviving are: two honorary grand-children, Katlyn and Bryce Moehr of Ft. Morgan, CO, five great-grandchildren; Alec, Drew, and Grayson Thiele, and Rory and Lilah Allen, one sister; Le Ann Schuldt of Sioux City, IA, five brothers; Bennie Zoss of Armour, Bennis and his wife Donna Zoss of Sioux Falls, SD, Jimmy and his wife Jennene Zoss of Pueblo West, CO, Jerry Zoss of Commerce City, CO, and Larry Zoss of Elk Point, SD, two sisters-in-law; Marge Zoss of Yankton, SD, and Karen Zoss of Armour, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
