Funeral services for LaVonne L. Otto, 79, of Aurelia, will be held Tuesday, April 4, 2017, at 11:00 A.M. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, with Pastor Jon Riggert officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Aurelia. Visitation will be Monday, from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M., at the Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia.

LaVonne Lorraine Huseman was born December 24, 1937 the daughter of Walter and Florence (Freese) Huseman near Hanover, IA. She attended grade school at Hanover, and graduated from the Alta High School in 1955.

On August 6th, 1961 LaVonne was united in marriage to Eldon “Tony” Otto at the St. John’s Lutheran Church at Hanover. LaVonne worked at Berks Studio in Cherokee, and at Sunset Knoll Retirement Home in Aurelia for more than 30 years. She was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Cherokee, and enjoyed crafting, coloring, watching movies, word puzzles, and board games.

LaVonne became a resident of Sunset Knoll Nursing and Rehab Center in Aurelia in April of 2016. She passed away there on April 1, 2017.

Preceding LaVonne in death were her parents, her husband Tony on March 30, 2006, two sisters; Darlene Neulieb and Myra Anabel, one brother, Malvern Huseman, and one brother-in-law, Allard Warneke.

Survivors include two daughters; Carla and her husband Rich Banwell of Aurelia, and Synda and her husband Scott Jepsen of Ida Grove, three grandchildren; Erica and her husband Jason Whittier of Webster City, Brian Banwell of Aurelia, and Sierra Jepsen of Ida Grove, and two great-grand-children; Mary and George Whittier. Also surviving are two brothers; Norbert and his wife Iris Huseman of Ida Grove, and Loren and his wife Linda Huseman of Tiffin, OH, one sister, Janice Warneke of Columbus, NE, two brothers-in-law; Ron and his wife Marge Neulieb of Alta, and Terry Anabel of Ogallala, NE, and one sister-in-law, Wendy Huseman of Edmondton Alberta, Canada, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
