Funeral services for Keith G. Hickey, 78, of Aurelia, will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 21, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Thomas Petersen officiating. Inurnment will be in the Diamond Township Cemetery, rural Aurelia. The family will be present for visitation on Friday for one hour prior to the service time. The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.

Keith Garland Hickey was born August 23, 1936, the son of Garland and Leone (Cook) Hickey at the Bates Hospital in Aurelia. He began country school at Diamond #2 until it closed and then attended school in Aurelia, graduating from the Aurelia High School in 1954. Following graduation he began farming with his father until inducted into the Army in 1959. Most of his tour of duty was spent in Korea where he was a teletype operator. Following his discharge in 1962 he returned to farming.

He enjoyed working with the Pedal Power Pullers, traveling to attend antique farm machinery shows, and was an avid reader. He was known for his sense of humor.

Keith died Thursday, November 13, 2014, at the Unity Point St. Luke’s Medical Center in Sioux City following a long illness.

Preceding Keith in death were his parents.

Survivors include his sister Joyce and her husband Dale Doescher of Galva, a nephew, Robert and his wife Gail Doescher of Geneseo, IL, and a niece, Linda and her husband Gary Paulson of Plymouth, MN, and friends.
