Graveside services for Jeffrey Robinson, 66, of Cherokee, formerly of Aurelia, will be held Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 4:00 P.M. at the Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee, with Pastor Bruce Rapp officiating. Military Honors will be presented by the L. A. Wescott Post #2253 of the VFW of Cherokee. Following the committal service family and friends are invited to the lower level of the VFW for a luncheon and a time of remembrance. The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of the arrangements.

Jeffery Kent Robinson was born January 5, 1950 the son of Russel and Velma (Saxby) Robinson in Cherokee, IA. He graduated from the Aurelia High School in 1969. After graduation he enlisted in the Marines. He later attended San Diego Community College in San Diego, CA. After his honorable discharge he worked for the Department of Defense. After returning to Iowa he worked as the caretaker at Oak Hill Cemetery in Cherokee. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with family and friends, helping with the harvest, and gardening.

Preceding Jeff in death were his parents Russel and Velma Robinson, and his grandparents; John and Violet Robinson and Melvin and Rose Saxby.

Jeff died February 12, 2016 at the Countryside Estates in Cherokee.

Survivors include his three children; Tom and his wife Kate Robinson and their children Brooke, Lauren and Trevor of Austin, TX, Tonia Robinson- Hibler and her children Tre and Terrance of San Diego, CA, and Jennifer and her husband Chad Driesen and their son Colten of Cherokee. Also surviving are three sisters; Nancy and her husband Rufus Daniels of Troy Mills, IA, June Hanson of Cherokee, and Cindy and her husband Mike Dailey of Cherokee, and nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
