GarypaperFuneral services for Gary G. Pfaff, 67, of Peterson, will be 10:30 A.M. Saturday, May 24, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Thomas Petersen officiating. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, rural Aurelia. The family will be present for visitation on Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 at the First United Methodist Church. The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.
Gary Glenn Pfaff was born December 11, 1946 in Alta, Iowa, the son of Louis Edward and Lois Irene (Beeghley) Pfaff. He graduated from the Aurelia High School in 1965. On August 13, 1965 Gary married Ruth Sickels in Kalamazoo, MI. Gary retired from the Navy after 21 years of service. He worked as a laborer for Freudenberg NOK in Spencer for 18 years. He enjoyed his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, music, fishing, Nascar, rodeo, and traveling.
Gary died Wednesday, May 21, 2014, at the Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City.
Preceding Gary in death were his father, his son Gregory, son-in-law Robert Molnar, and three brothers-in-law; Carl Plagman, Robert Hiatt, and Ronnie Sickels.
Survivors include his wife Ruth of Peterson, two daughters; Penny Molnar of Sioux Rapids, and Wendy Baker and her partner Michael Hellman of Sutherland. Also surviving are nine grandchildren; Wendy and husband John Bailey, Aaron Hobson, Zachary Molnar, Catherine Baker and partner Travis Morton, Mikka Baker and partner Steven Partridge, McKenzie and husband Clinton Larson, Dakota Hellman, Dallas Hellman, and Ariel Hellman, seven great-grandchildren; his mother, Lois and her husband Richard Weathers, one sister, Ann and her husband Jerry Sandine, one brother, Dan and his wife Deb Pfaff, his parents-in-law, Melvin and Mildred Sickels, four sister-in-laws and one brother-in-law and their spouses; Patricia and Ray, Dianne and Jim, Carol and Dan, Ralph and Lori, and Karen and Pat, many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends.
