Funeral services for Donna J. Meyer, 68, of Aurelia, formerly of Cherokee, will be Saturday, May 21, 2016, at 10:00 A.M., at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia, with Pastor Larry Lemke officiating. Burial will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery, rural Cherokee. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service, with the family present, at the church. The Redig Funeral Home in Aurelia is in charge of arrangements.

Donna JoAlice Bowling was born on April 4, 1948 at Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of Henry C. and Dorothy (Smith) Bowling. She attended school in Oklahoma City and Cherokee, graduating from Washington High School in 1964. In 1966 Donna married Deon Ray Meyer in Cherokee. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Aurelia. She worked as district manager for Dollar General Stores until her retirement in 2011. Donna enjoyed painting, golf, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Donna died Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center in Sioux City, IA.

Preceding Donna in death were her parents, her husband Deon in January 2000, and her brother, Michael Bowling.

Survivors include and one son, Michael Meyer and longtime friend Tom McFarland of Lincoln, NE, one daughter, Stefanie and her husband Matthew Williamson of Aurelia, five grandchildren; Jerik Tuggle, Vanessa Tuggle, Austin Williamson, Gavin Bolinger, and Kylee Williamson, two sisters-in-law; Marlys Langschwager of Cherokee, and Gayla and her husband Ron Bush of Quimby, nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends.
